Gail King, Camp DirectorGail King, Archaeology Summer Camp Director, is the director of the Southeastern Indian Educational and Research Center at the Jacksonville State University Archaeological Resource Laboratory. She received a Master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Alabama. Gail is a member of the Lower Creek Muscogee Tribe East, recognized by the State of Alabama. She holds a B.S. degree in secondary education, with a major in Biology and has been certified by the State of Alabama to teach in secondary education. Gail is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of native peoples ,both
recent and ancient, with the members of Archaeology Summer Camp 2005. |

Hunter Johnson, Lead ArchaeologistHunter Johnson is an instructor at JSU and co-director of the Archaeological
Resource Laboratory. He received a Master’s degree in anthropology
from the University of Alabama. Hunter helped establish and develop an
ethnobotany laboratory at JSU and he is the current president for the
Alabama Archaeological Society. |

Dr. Harry O. HolsteinDr. Harry O. Holstein has been a full professor of anthropology at JSU for 27 years and is the founder and administrative director of the JSU Archaeological Resource Laboratory. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and taught there prior to coming to JSU. He serves as consultant for a wide variety of federal, state, and local archaeological, historical, and research agencies. |

Rebecca Turley RidleyRebecca Turley Ridley is a principal investigator/project manager for
the Archaeological Resource Laboratory. She received a Masters degree
in anthropology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Ridley
has planned, executed, and reported on numerous Phase I, II, and III archaeological
field investigations, as well as many Phase I architectural viewshed assessments.
