Egyptian wedding drums, Chinese Paper Drums, African cymbals, and dozens more instruments will be explained, demonstrated and offered for play during this amazing drumming circle performed by Rachel Smart from the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Children adore this hands-on experience!

    Native American Medicine & Lore

Join Dr. Ken Pilgreen and JSU Field Schools Director Pete Conroy for a stroll through the enchanting Little River Canyon forests which were once Cherokee lands to learn about Native American Medicine. Native Americans had many remedies for varieties of illnesses and injuries that have been studied in modern times. These insightful folks had a spiritual way of administering these remedies that contributed substantially to their healing nature.

Meet live animals of the creepy kind! Kids are welcome to wear costumes for “treats.”
